Nicholas James Murphy will not be forgotten. Thank you, Nick, on this Memorial Day for your service to this country and the sacrifices you made and the bravery you showed. We will never forget.
We are happy to report that the 2018 Fairways for the Armed Forces golf outing to be held on June 11, 2018 at Mt. Hawley Country Club will again be one of the premier golf outings in Central Illinois this summer.
In only its second year, it has established itself as a first-class event providing financial support and honoring those men and women in the Armed Forces, providing financial support for military families and pro bono family law legal services for veterans and active duty members of the Armed Forces, providing support for OSF and the Heller Center for Kids with Cancer, and providing substantial educational scholarships to local student-athletes.
Because of your support, we are happy to report that we will be giving out five $2,500.00 educational scholarships instead of two, and the winners will be announced later today. Keep posted for their names to congratulate these fine young men and women.
Finally, the deadline for signing up to play in the event in this Friday, June 1. We are already full in the afternoon 1:00 p.m. shotgun round but we still have spots available in the morning 8:00 a.m. shotgun round. Please sign up this week to play. We have 192 golfers already paid and playing and we want at least two more foursomes to play in the morning so we can get to the 200 player level.
