2019 Military Christmas Grants
The Nicholas J. Murphy Foundation is proud to announce the Four RECIPIENTS of the $500.00 Military Christmas Grants this christmas season in honor of nick murphy and his sacrifice, COMMITMENT, and bravery.
Jason Scott
Jason has been active duty in the U.S. Army for 18 years, with deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, and South Korea. He is active in his community where he is a part of his son’s Pop Warner football team and also volunteers with his boy scout troop.
Christopher Oboum
Christopher has been both active duty and in the reserves in the U.S. Navy for the past 6 years. He and his wife have three children, all under the age of 3. He is active in his hometown of Morton, Illinois, where he is involved with the Morton Police Department as an Auxiliary Office, volunteering more than 400 hours of his time this year.
John Beavers
John has been both in the Army National Guard and active duty in the U.S. Coast Guard. He has volunteered in his community at the Defenders of Freedom Resale Store in Galesburg, Illinois. He also is involved with Bethel Baptist Church and volunteered as a coach for his son’s FC Galesburg boys soccer team.
Audrey Narlock
Audrey has been active duty in the U.S. Army. Her two sons are also on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corp. She is a part of the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors as a military mentor. She has also volunteered with Crossroads K9 Rescue of Wisconsin to help get service dogs for TAPS families in need, and helps prepare taxes through the IRS VITA program in her community.
